- TurnItIn Integration > Manage Turnitin:
- NOTE: Turnitin is only available in LSS and should only be used for file submissions (.docx or .pdf or .txt files ONLY), wherein the vast majority of the text submitted is original work authored by the student. Turnitin should NOT be enabled for pre-populated worksheet and template files provided for download and completion by students in assignments, UNLESS the attached template file is uploaded to Turnitin and set to exclude template, as the repeated text, authored by Michigan Virtual, that appears in each student assignment file submission produces false warnings of plagiarism in Turnitin Similarity Score Reports.
- See the steps below to enable Turnitin and exclude template files.
- Note: If Turnitin similarity scoring is desired on assignments that require submission of worksheet template files, then the original template file must be excluded in Turnitin more options settings accessed through the assignment’s Evaluation and Feedback settings.
- Edit Assignment > Evaluation & Feedback settings > Manage Turnitin
- Enable Similarity Report (check box)
- Allow learners to see Turninin similarity scores (check box)
- Automatic originality checking on all submissions (check box)
