Standard
The standard with which Michigan Virtual courses need to comply.
H5P content added as LTI for a grade in Brightspace needs the correct settings to ensure it writes to the grade book. |
Requirements
What exactly do course developers need to include in order to comply with this standard?
H5P content that needs to be written to the grade book needs to be published as protected and have the LTI settings updated. It will need to be inserted into Brightspace using the Insert Stuff tool. |
Implementation
How can course developers implement this standard? What is the process for doing so?
Publishing Content:
H5P LTI Settings:
Note: If LTI setting is set to “Best Attempt” and the gradebook score is removed from a learner for that item, removing the gradebook item does not reset the “Best Attempt” score of the h5p. Example: A user scores 100% on the h5p item and receives complete on the gradebook item . The score is then removed and the gradebook item goes back to incomplete. If the learner retakes the quiz and scores 95%, this will not complete the activity in the gradebook (even if the complete threshold is set below 95%), because 95% is not a “Best Attempt”. This may be more problematic when clearing demo users scores than for real learners. To avoid this issue, h5p LTI settings can be set to “Last Attempt”. Setting choice will be dependent on situation. Insert into Brightspace: When inserting an H5P in this manner, an LTI link and a Gradebook item will be created. To remove the gradebook item, the LTI link must first be deleted.
