Standard

The standard with which Michigan Virtual courses need to comply.

Storylines published to CourseArc will be responsive and will be in the Zip Embed CourseArc block type.

What exactly do course developers need to include in order to comply with this standard?

Storyline files should be responsive, which means that they should expand and shrink as a window expands or shrinks. There should not be a scroll bar.

Adding Storyline to CourseArc:

  1. From the edit page view, select “Add To Content” then select “Add Block”
  2. From the Add Block modal, select “Zip Embed”
  3. The Add Zip Embed form will appear. Complete the following steps:
    1. Select the Choose File button in the Zip File: field to browse for the .zip file to upload into CourseArc
    2. Once the ZIP file is uploaded, select the display file from the dropdown (e.g., index.html). Once a file is selected, a preview of the launch page will appear at the bottom of the form
    3. Adjust the width and height as needed
    4. Select Yes if the content is responsive and it will auto-resize it to fit mobile screens
      1. Note: This option should only be used if you are certain that the uploaded content is responsive
    5. Select Add+ to add the block to the page
  4. The new block will now appear on the page in the edit page view. Select the “Publish My Edits button to save the block
    1. Note: Some legacy content may not be accessible. It is recommended to have legacy content tested by an accessibility expert to ensure that content is compliant with Section 508 standards.
