Course Set Up (Admin Permission)

Standard

The standard with which Michigan Virtual courses need to comply.

New courses should be created using the CourseArc Master Template.

 

Requirements

What exactly do course developers need to include in order to comply with this standard?

When developing a new course, use the template, CourseArc Master Template. This contains a lesson, unit introduction, and unit wrap up template. These should be copied into all new courses and be used to develop any new content.

CourseArc Admin permission is required to create a new course. If you do not have Admin permissions, submit a Wrike Request:

  1. iPD Support Request
  2. Technology Request
  3. (1) CourseArc Course Creation/Deletion/Modification.

When adding a new course, use the following settings:

    • Organized by: Lesson
    • Grading: Participation/Automatic
    • Public Course: Yes
    • Theme Options
      • Icon Set: New MV Orange (Use These)
      • Theme: MV 2021 Theme
      • Footer: Keep the template footer unless otherwise indicated by the CDM. *See below for VLLA adoption.
    • Users: Anyone who is developing in the course should be listed as a Course Leader.
  • Tags:
    • DEV or MSTR – Choose one of these tags based on if the course is in DEV development, or if it’s now in use of a live course it is a Master.
    • Year – list the year that it is in DEV or the MSTR completed (i.e. 2021, 2022…)
    • Audience: PLS, SLS, or MVLRI
    • Subject Area – add a tag for the subject area the course should be classified as.

*If the course is an adoption from a VLLA organization and we plan on revising the content, use the following in the Footer:

If it is a straight adoption with no changes, use the following:

  • + Add New Course
  • Course Arc Master Template

Template Lesson needs to be copied into the new course from Course Arc Master Template
