Standard
The standard with which Michigan Virtual courses need to comply.
Student-facing attachments must be attached as Microsoft Word documents (.docx) using the Attached Document Template. |
Requirements
What exactly do course developers need to include in order to comply with this standard?
Files may need to be attached in Brightspace using the “Manage Files” function in Student-Facing Assessments (ex. assignment worksheet) or in the Instructor’s Only Unit (ex. audio transcript)
Student-facing attachments must be attached as Microsoft Word documents (.docx) using the Attached Document Template. Note: Microsoft Word Documents may also be used in the Instructor’s Only unit of the course, however, some file types may require PDF format (ex. Discussion Based Assessment Prompts that cannot be edited). If you’re unsure whether a PDF is required for an Instructor’s Only unit attachment, please check with your project leader. |
Implementation
How can course developers implement this standard? What is the process for doing so?
Attached documents such as student worksheets should be scripted using the Attached Document Template located in the Google Project Folder in Folder 3. Develop and subfolder, “Assignment Templates.”
If the template is not in the Google Project Folder, one can be added from the template gallery:
Ensure the document meets accessibility standards by running a Grackle report before downloading. |
