Using Objects from the LOR

Standard

The standard with which Michigan Virtual courses need to comply. 

The introduction and conclusion modules must include the Michigan Virtual template pages that are currently in the Master Course Template.

 

Requirements 

What exactly do course developers need to include in order to comply with this standard? 

If any template pages are missing from the course shell, they should be added from the learning object repository (LOR).

 

Implementation 

How can course developers implement this standard? What is the process for doing so?

1. Within the Module 

  • Within the module/submodule, click “New
  • Select “Add Object from LOR(Select images to enlarge)

  • Search for the type of course page you are looking for such as:
    • Start
    • Introduction
    • Module0
    • Conclusion
    • Closure
    • Page titles

2. Within a Lesson

  • Within a unit or lesson, click “Add Existing”

  • Select “LOR

  • Search for the required page by browsing or typing in the search bar for the appropriate term such as:
    • Start
    • Introduction
    • Module0
    • Conclusion
    • Closure
    • Page titles

  • Select the correct object by reviewing the title, description, date, and repository.

  • Select how you want to retrieve the object and confirm your selection by clicking “Next” then  “Create Topic.
